Kourion Ancient Theatre
One of the most dramatically sited ancient theatres in the entire Mediterranean β a beautifully restored Greco-Roman theatre perched on a cliff above the turquoise sea on the edge of the Kourion archaeological site, still used for summer performances. The views from the stage are extraordinary.
Limassol Castle & Cyprus Medieval Museum
A compact but atmospheric medieval castle in the heart of Limassol's old town β Richard the Lionheart married Berengaria of Navarre here in 1191, making it one of the most historically charged buildings in the Crusader world. The Cyprus Medieval Museum inside holds weapons, armour, and Byzantine coins.
Kolossi Castle
A beautifully preserved 15th-century Crusader castle and former headquarters of the Knights of St John β a solid, square limestone tower rising from sugarcane fields west of Limassol. The castle controlled the production of Commandaria wine, one of the world's oldest named wines.
Akrotiri Salt Lake
One of Cyprus's most important wetlands β a large shallow salt lake that hosts thousands of greater flamingos from November through March as they migrate from Eastern Europe and the Black Sea. In summer it dries to a shimmering white salt flat with the Akrotiri peninsula visible beyond.
Aphrodite's Birthplace (Petra tou Romiou)
The legendary birthplace of Aphrodite β a spectacular coastal rock formation rising from the turquoise sea on a remote stretch of beach between Limassol and Paphos, surrounded by legends of love and fortune. Swimming around the rock is said to restore youth and bring eternal love.
Limassol Old Town & Anexartisias Street
Limassol's atmospheric old town bazaar district β a grid of narrow streets around the castle filled with traditional Cypriot shops selling silverware, local pottery, halloumi, commandaria wine, carob products, and lace. The area around Anexartisias and Agiou Andreou streets is the heart of it.

Limassol's covered municipal market β a lively indoor market hall selling fresh Cypriot produce, olives, local cheeses (halloumi, anari, kefalotyri), honey, herbs, dried figs, carob products, and local wine. An authentic local shopping experience far from the tourist shops.
Souvlaki at Arsinoe
A classic Cypriot souvlaki joint in the old town β handmade pita wraps stuffed with juicy grilled pork or chicken souvlaki, fresh tomato, parsley, onion, and tzatziki. Simple, cheap, and perfect β eaten standing at the counter by locals before and after work.
Commandaria Wine Tasting at Keo Winery
A fascinating guided tour and tasting at Keo β one of Cyprus's largest and oldest wineries, located on the Limassol waterfront β covering the production of Commandaria (one of the world's oldest named wines, first made in the 5th century BCE), Cypriot white wines, and the fiery grape spirit zivania.
