1. Who we are

Shore Bound Ltd. (“Shore Bound”, “we”, “us”) operates the ShoreBound website and application. We are registered in England and Wales. For data protection enquiries, contact us at hello@shorebound.com.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data: email address and password hash, collected when you create an account.
  • Cruise itinerary data: ship name, voyage dates, and port stops that you enter or import.
  • Saved preferences: liked or saved port listings, day plans, and schedule selections.
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and basic device/browser information, collected via server logs.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and personalise the ShoreBound service.
  • To save your itineraries and plans across sessions.
  • To send transactional emails (e.g. account verification).
  • To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns.

Our lawful basis is contract performance (providing the service you signed up for) and, where applicable, legitimate interests (improving the product).

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following sub-processors necessary to run the service:

  • Supabase — database and authentication hosting (EU region).
  • Vercel — application hosting and edge functions.
  • Anthropic — AI-generated itinerary suggestions (no personal data is sent; only port and schedule metadata).

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

6. Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format).

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
